It has since been nerfed, and the Cow Level has become an in-joke since, including Blizzard’s fierce denial of a Cow Level’s existence. The infamous Secret Cow Level has been known and loved by Diablo fans since Diablo II–it consisted of a special portal taking the player to an area full of Hell Bovines–cows with pole arms–that (at one point) offered high levels of experience and good items.
